Sammy is very excited because tomorrow is his birthday. He is turning seven tomorrow. Sammy is a bit sad because the past year he grew so much that his shell doesn’t fit anymore. Sammy would like a new shell before his friends come over for his birthday party.
Sammy decides to go and ask for help. First Sammy goes to the sea crabs and asks them if they have a new shell for him. The crabs say to Sammy: “No, sorry Sammy. We don’t use shells and we do not know where to find one for you either.”
After he leaves the sea crabs, Sammy goes to the sea turtles and asks them if they have a new shell for him. The turtles say to Sammy: “No, sorry Sammy. Our shells grow with us and we don’t know where to find one for you either.”
Sammy goes and sits on a rock and prays to Jesus: “Jesus, please help me to find a new shell before my birthday party tomorrow. I grew a lot the past year and I don’t fit into my shell anymore.” Jesus says to Sammy: “Don’t worry about the day of tomorrow. Don’t worry about a new shell. I will provide for you. Just look to today and trust in me.”
Sammy gets very excited and decides to go bed early. The next morning Sammy wakes up and sees a big box next to his bed. It has a big red bow on it. On the box it is written: “To Sammy.” Who can this gift be from?
Sammy opens the box and sees a brand new shell inside. He put on his new shell and it fits perfectly. Sammy runs to his mommy and thanks her for his new shell. Sammy’s mommy says: “That is a beautiful new shell Sammy but it is not from me.”
Then Sammy just knew. The shell is from Jesus! Sammy says to Jesus: “Thank you so much for my new shell.” Jesus says to Sammy: “Happy birthday Sammy. Enjoy your new shell.”
